Pre-jumping in Rocket League refers to the act of jumping or dodging before an event or action occurs in the game. It's a proactive strategy used to anticipate an opponent's shot, a pass, or a specific play, allowing you to position your car in the air to either block, intercept, or redirect the ball. Pre-Jumping requires you to be able to read the ball very well when the ball bounces off of the wall and ceiling.

  • Situational Use

  • In defensive situations, pre-jumping can be used to intercept an opponent's shot on goal. By jumping early, you can get your car in the path of the ball, making a save or a block before the ball reaches the net.

  • Pre-jumping is useful when reading wall plays, such as rebounds or shots from the wall. Being in the air early allows you to contest or redirect the ball before it reaches the ground.

  • Pre-jumping can be effective in challenges, especially in aerial duels. Jumping early can give you an advantageous position to contest the ball or disrupt your opponent's play.
