Aerials are the backbone of advanced gameplay in Rocket League. They are an essential skill, used in every match, and serve as the foundation for many advanced mechanics in the game. Aerials allow you to take the battle to the skies, giving you the power to jump for the ball or execute flips to make powerful shots. They are a vital aspect of scoring goals, defending your net, and turning the tide of a match in your favor.

Aerials in Action
  • Steps to Mastering Aerials

  • 1. Jump into the air.
  • 2. Lean your car back so the nose points up, ready to intercept the ball.
  • 3. Hold the boost button to hit in the air.

Precision and Control: Navigating the Aerial Battlefield

Aerials require mastery of momentum management since your aerial speed is the same as the speed when you launched into the air. Proper setup is crucial to your aerial success. Ensure that your momentum when driving won't affect your aerials, as a poor setup can negatively impact your aerial performance. This is generally where less experienced players make mistakes with aerials.
To make effective contact with the ball while airborne, you must understand how to control your car in the air. Hitting the ball with the bottom of your car results in a weak hit, so aim to make contact with the sides, top, or front of your car to maximize the force applied.
