Being able to clear the ball from the wall can stop many advanced mechanics from setting up. Sometimes in high levels of play, defence requires a backboard defender. Being able to predict how the ball will bounce off of the backboard, Timing your hit, and where you are going to hit the ball are all important in clearing.
